Natural Migraine Relief – 5 Proven Tips

Sarah Jennings asked:

Imagine what it would be like to escape the excruciating pain of your migraine without using heavy doses of prescribed medication. You probably already know that migraines cannot be cured so I’m not going to make any false promises. However, these 5 proven tips for natural migraine relief have been proven to reduce the symptoms of debilitating migraines.

Stay away from the light. With migraines just like headaches, bright light, both natural and artificial intensify the pain dramatically. Stay in a darkened room and lie down if at all possible.

Use an Icepack. Placing an icepack or something else cold on the back of the neck near the base of the skull can help ease the pain. A cold damp cloth placed across the eyes can help too and also block out the light.

Drink plenty of water Dehydration can intensify the pain of a migraine or headache and it is a known fact that many people need to go to the bathroom more often when suffering from a migraine. Make sure your body is fully hydrated.

Take a hot bath A hot bath helps to relax your muscles. Migraines can sometimes be triggered by tight muscles, especially around the back and shoulders. A long hot bath is often the best natural migraine relief for many suffers.

Clear Your Head If you have a lot on your mind, there’s no point trying to think about anything while you’re suffering a migraine attack. I know it can he hard especially if your schedule is as hectic as mine, but clearing your mind and focusing on long slow deep breaths can help dramatically.
